Welcome to Xian!

In order to let people see the city in a new way, our project makes use of Citywalk as a platform. As participants navigate the neighborhoods, we hope they will naturally sense how historical legacy and contemporary life interact. More significantly, we believe that this comprehensive experience will enhance each person's feeling of cultural identity and reignite an enthusiasm for learning about local culture.

 

We decided to explore this concept since the core of Citywalk is slowing down and getting closer, in contrast to the traditional tourist strategy that hurried visitors from one monument to another. It encourages visitors to discover underappreciated urban tales concealed amid well-known streets and lanes, freeing them from the burden of seeing the sights. Participants develop a stronger emotional connection to the soil beneath their feet by closely examining each scene.

 

Our ultimate goal is that more individuals would actively participate in community development and strengthen their feeling of cultural belonging via these experiences, as well as learn to appreciate the subtle yet poignant beauty woven into the daily rhythms of urban life.
